Appearance: Jiren is a tall, very muscular humanoid with an appearance similar to the folkloric aliens known as the Greys. He wears the uniform of the Pride Troopers consisting of a red, spandex-like suit with black sections around the collar and legs, white gloves, and white boots. New 'Dragon Ball Super Theory Predicts Big Vegeta Reveal is Coming

Dragon Ball Super has already revealed some serious developments during its "Universe Survivor" arc, with the Tournament of Power throwing more and more new twists and milestones at fans. However, while characters like Goku, Jiren, and the Kefla fusion are redefining what the term "powerful" means for DBS fighters, there's been one conspicuous absence in the new upper echelon of fighters: Vegeta.

During the Tournament of Power, Vegeta hasn't really shown any new propensity for combat or power level limit breaking, but we've heard teases that the Saiyan prince will have his moment. Now, one fan theory is breaking down a lot of little clues that point to Vegeta soon showing fans why he's still one of the top fighters in Universe 7 - or maybe of all the universes in this "Universe Survival" arc!

Here's why you need to be keeping your eye on Vegeta in Dragon Ball Super's upcoming episodes:
SLIDE 1/2 – A HISTORY OF FRUSTRATION

As you can see in the Reddit thread below, this user has accumulated quite a bit of strong (if only circumstantial) evidence that Vegeta is hiding a secret transformation or power-up of his own!

I strongly believe Vegeta is hiding something or has achieved a new powerup we have yet to see. Don't count him out just yet.(self.dbz)

First off let me just say that Vegeta vs Toppo happening off-screen is such a cock tease. This matchup was something many desired before the TOP even began. A fight like this really should have an episode or two dedicated towards it, hopefully, we see something later on.

Anyways on to the topic at hand. Every time Goku has surpassed Vegeta, Vegeta has always came to the realization that Goku is stronger than him, whether in a humble or covetous way. Whether he was frustrated or being humble about it he did always make it clear that at those moments he was weaker in power than Goku. He did it the first time he saw Goku on Namek take down Recoome.

He even later did it when he told Frieza that Goku had become a Super Saiyan and would be the one to beat him.

This happens again in the Cell Saga as well. When Goku powered up to full power SS Vegeta knew Goku had surpassed him and even said it here.

The third time this happens is during the Buu saga, when Vegeta learns about SS3 and then later admits Goku is better than him.

Moving onto the Dragonball Super during the Universe 6 vs Universe 7 tournament when Goku used Kaioken with SSB, Vegeta legitimately looks pissed that Goku is one step ahead of him

Every time Goku has ascended to a new level its been the same pattern with Vegeta. Fast forward to the current TOP and things here are different. Vegeta's reaction to Ultra Instinct is not what you'd expect. Instead, he just looked puzzled, trying to make sense of what was going on. He didn't look frustrated or angry that Goku had gotten ahead of him. With the last couple of Episodes Vegeta's attitude has been the same since the start of the tournament. Despite seeing the battle between Jiren and Goku, he still wanted to challenge him until Toppo Interfered. Toppo called him second fiddle which pissed him off and Vegeta challenged his statement. Even in the current episode, Vegeta said he's still on top of all the Saiyans. He says he's going to win and resurrect U6 Saiyans with the super Dragonballs. His mind hasn't changed, he hasn't said "oh well I guess I'll let kakarot win this one for us".

He's not discouraged or demoralized despite seeing Goku lose in Ultra Instinct form, and Hit getting knocked out. This is why I strongly believe Vegeta has a much greater role to play, that we'll most likely see him attain a new powerup.

EDIT: Wow, this got more attention that I thought it would. Ended up writing this last night and forgetting about it. Another thing I wanted to mention was the MAFUBA. When Trunks had used Mafuba on Zamasu and when Roshi had used it on Frost, they both came back out the jar but were pretty exhausted. Vegeta on the other hand was not. He came out the jar bursting with energy. Idk, perhaps im looking too deeply into this and Vegeta was just really angry.

While that's still just speculation, it is undeniable that in past instances of the series, Vegeta has always been quite clear about where his power stands in relation to Goku's. The Saiyan prince is none too shy about expressing his frustration whenever Goku surpasses him - which is why fans have been buzzing and speculating about how Vegeta reacted to Goku's Ultra Instinct power.

While Vegeta was certainly surprised and/or confused by Ultra Instinct, he certainly hasn't gone on his usual pontification about being overshadowed by Goku - and there are little clues that he's already at the door of unlocking that power (or a similar one) in himself.

SLIDE 2/2 – VEGETA GOALS

This speculation and theory leads us to three big questions about the next phase of the "Universe Survival" arc:
  1. Is Vegeta truly holding back a new power-up or transformation?
  2. If he is, is it something like Ultra Instinct? Or a power-up we haven't seen yet?
  3. Why would Vegeta be holding back his true power at this point? What would be his true endgame?

Some trusted Dragon Ball Super spoiler sources have already echoed the idea that Vegeta still has a pivotal part to play in the Tournament of Power. Adding some deeper fan theory to that notion, we've already broken down some of the possible reveals.

The biggest thread to pull on is Vegeta's long time bond with Cabba (as far back as the Tournament of Destruction), and the Saiyan prince's promise to both resurrect Universe 6's Saiyans with the Super Dragon Balls, and make the acquaintance of their planet, Sadala's, king. Could Vegeta be angling to go from prince to king in that alternate universe? Also, with Goku going up against the fused threat of Kefla in the next episode, could Vegeta be the key to boosting Goku's new power with a Vegito fusion?

Dragon Ball Super's “Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami airs the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
